Wreath Flip Part 1. Lemon Wreath.

Let’s upcycle wreaths!!!!

I just want to point this out, when I started making wreaths I had no clue what I was doing so I would just wing it….kind of what I am doing now. Some of the best projects come from not having a plan I say!

So I have a friend that loves to find a bargain and she is always keeping a look out for crafty treasures for me. So she found these two wreaths penny shopping and I decided they needed a make-over. So I am going to share with you what I turned them into, so follow along with me on this project.

So these are the two wreaths I started with.

I decided that I would take everything off of both of them and see what I had to work with. the box on the left is everything I took off and on the right the two wreath bases I was left with.

Then comes the thinking part…….hmmmm, what to do, what to do!

So I decided living in the frozen tundra of Iowa this January I would focus on warmness!!!

Before we go any further I decided to take a walk around our winter wonderland…..

BRRRRRRRRRRR
A lot of nothing…….

It’s so pretty how the ice and snow settle on the branches.
Beautiful winter trees!

So let’s focus on the making of a lemon wreath. When I think of warm I think of summer and lemonade….so I started by placing the lemon sticks into the wreath to get my shape going….

After I place the lemon sticks in and decide on the shape I remove them and then I hot glue them into place

I found this greenery in a box of leftover flowers and decided they would make a great accent to the wreath.

So Let’s see what I have going so far…..

I am loving the shape so I am going to keep filling in and create my bow…….

I follow a lot of other crafters and I wish I could remember who to give credit for the DIY bow maker that my husband help me make out of stuff I just had laying around.

Proof it doesn’t have to be pretty…just functional!

So the ribbon I chose was a combo of extras I had from my penny shopping friend and Michaels.

After the bow was in place I still found it to be plain.

so I decided to add the “hello” sign to the wreath…

So Now I feel Happy with the end product!!! And when my mom saw it she fell in love with it…..so it is in her living room awaiting warmer weather LOL!
